The high resolution VS-XH70U Lamp Changer Projection Engine brings Smart 7 intelligence, modular flexibility, and low-maintenance advantages to custom video walls and retrofit installations. The VS-XH70U Lamp Changer Projection Engine, powered by Texas Instruments DLP® technology, is the same projection engine found in our dual lamp 50” and 67” XGA projection cubes, so you get the same groundbreaking technology, such as Smart Lamp, Digital Gradation Circuit, Color Space Control, Auto-Geometry, and Smart Switch.
Smart XGA Projection Cube FeaturesBuilt for the demands of mission critical applications, the VS-XH70U Lamp Changer Projection Engine uses Smart Lamp technology to communicate with the other display engines and self-adjust to ensure consistent operation and uniformity. Color Space Control automatically adjusts for optimal performance. Smart Lamp detects when an engine lamp is reaching the end of its service life and switches to the pre-heated second lamp in a matter of seconds. Color Space Control adjusts color and brilliance to blend with the entire wall while the Digital Gradation Circuit maintains uniform brightness and crisp, vibrant images, edge to edge.
FlexibilityExceptional modularity let's you replace the XGA engine with an SXGA+ engine without having to upgrade the cabinet, mirror or screen. With three optional input ports available, you can configure your XGA projection cubes to meet your specific installation requirements.
Internal ProcessingInternal data processing allows up to six windows per cube and multiple windows can be moved freely. Windows can be stretched across the video wall, so you may not need an external image processor for your installation. With Mitsubishi D-Wall Software, you can control the entire imaging system from an intuitive graphical user interface.
Auto-balancingEach cube uses three color sensors and a dynamic color control and brightness balancing system to continuously monitor output. Adjacent XGA projection cubes share data and each automatically adjusts itself for accurate color balance and brightness over the entire video wall. No need for external sensors, PC’s, or user intervention.
Easy Set-upMitsubishi Auto-Geometry simplifies mechanical adjustments for easy installation. Each VS-XH70U Lamp Changer Projection Engine features a fine-tuning device that uses a camera and machine-vision software to automatically align the on-screen image. The new VS-XH70U engine is completely sealed, so you don't have to be concerned about dust getting into the optics. Automatic color adjustment is available using Mitsubishi Wallaby Software.
DurabilityOur projection engines now offer double the average service life of the color wheel system, fan pack and other moving parts. Rated at over 100,000 hours, your VS-XH70U Lamp Changer Projection Engine gives you more than eleven years of continuous operation, almost twice as long as projection engines from other manufacturers. The lamp and the color wheel internally stores their color characteristics, so when either is replaced the new lamp and or the color wheel automatically calibrates to the original characteristics. You enjoy enduring color balance consistent with the rest of the video wall.
RedundancyYou need signal redundancy for continuous, 24/7 operation, and the VS-XH70U Lamp Changer Projection Engine delivers with Smart Switch. Should a signal be unexpectedly lost, the display engine automatically switches to an alternative signal source within seconds. Minimal downtime means you save time and money.

Dynamic Brightness Balancing
Each Mitsubishi display wall cube is equipped with a built-in brightness sensor (brightness is measured every 2 seconds). The Dynamic Brightness Balancing™ circuit then communicates the measured brightness data between all cubes and automatically performs the necessary adjustments to maintain optimum brightness uniformity across the entire display wall.
Color Space Control
Mitsubishi developed the powerful Color Space Control feature, a digital color balancing and blending circuit that compensates for color and brightness differences among all of the cubes in a multi-unit configuration.
Smart Lamp
Mitsubishi's exclusive Smart Lamp™ Module in each display wall cube stores its own color characteristics. This data is the utilized when replacing the lamp in one or more cubes within the display wall. Upon replacement, the cube with the new lamp automatically communicates that lamp's data with all other cubes and performs the Color Space Control adjustment to rebalance the entire display wall, saving time and reducing maintenance costs.
Smart Colorwheel
Mitsubishi's exclusive Smart Colorwheel™ Module in each display wall cube stores its own color characteristics. This data is then utilized when replacing the colorwheel in one or more cubes within the display wall. Upon replacement, the cube with the new colorwheel automatically communicates that colorwheel's data with all other cubes and performs the Color Space Control adjustment to rebalance the entire display wall, saving time and reducing maintenance costs.
12 Bit Dither & Gamma Circuit
Developed by Mitsubishi, the 12-bit Dither & Gamma Circuit enables the display of truly natural gradation (gray scale) by accurately rendering both bright and dark areas for precise half-tone images. This circuit also processes frame (time axis) direction to ensure smoother gradation and optimum color fidelity for all images.
Digital Gradation Circuit
Mitsubishi's proprietary Digital Gradation Circuit can elevate the brightness level at the edges of the screen–where brightness usually fades, in order to ensure the optimum brightness distribution and uniformity over multi-screen tiled configurations.
High Contrast Ratio
The combination of Mitsubishi's original high quality new optical system, super high-contrast screen and 12-degree DLP® chip (with dark metal coating), allow the Mitsubishi Display Wall Cubes to deliver an outstanding contrast ratio of 1600:1 (XGA models) or 1800:1 (SXGA+ models), and reproduce sharp, brilliant images with rich, vibrant colors.
